Handwriting Group

  Little Steps Handwriting Group is led by an Occupational Therapist who examines fine motor skills, hand strength, and visual motor skills that may affect your child’s ability to form legible letters. This group will focus on prehension (pre-writing) skills as well as developmentally appropriate handwriting skills. This group utilizes the foundations of Handwriting Without Tears and Size Matters to meet your child’s needs. This group is designed to target children 5-7 years-old.

Preschool Prep Program (PPP)

 

 Our Pre-K Prep program is designed to help children smoothly transition into preschool by strengthening foundational social and group participation skills. This program is perfect for 3- to 4-year-olds who will benefit from exposure to group songs, shared story time, structured transitions, and social play. Children will engage in activities that support early learning, including gross and fine motor play, sensory exploration, turn-taking, and communication with peers.Our preschool-prep environment is designed to nurture intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through hands-on, interactive experiences

Ready for Preschool (RFP)

 

The Ready For Preschool Program at Little Steps promotes early learning for children who are 3-years-old to 4-years-old. Our Preschool engages our children socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Each day combines gross motor, and fine motor, sensory activities to work on social skills such as turn-taking and communication with peers.

Fantastic Fives

 

 Building on the skills developed in Pre-K Prep, our Fantastic Fives program supports more advanced social communication, peer interactions, and following multi-step directions in a small-group setting. This program is ideal for 5-6 year-olds who are working on expanding their play and conversation skills. Through a mix of structured and free play, arts and crafts, sensory activities, movement-based games, and collaborative tasks, children will develop stronger communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities. Our experienced therapists guide each session, ensuring individualized support while encouraging independence and peer connection.

 For families looking to extend their child’s group experience, our Lunch Bunch offers an opportunity for children to practice mealtime routines, social conversation, and independent eating skills in a relaxed, supportive setting. .

Baby Steps

 Little Steps' newest group offering is a social group for infants under 1 year-old and their caregiver(s)!  This group will promote communication between parents and interactions between babies, while also promoting fine and gross motor development, providing information on play positions and age-appropriate toys. This group is led by a physical therapist

Yoga

Little Steps hosts a yoga group led by a physical therapist which focuses on various skills such as balance, coordination, flexibility, meditation, effective breathing techniques and more.  The therapist has the unique skill to meet each child's skill level.  This group offers a fun and engaging environment to work on a wide range of skills!  It is designed for children 3 and up.

Sensory Feeding Group

Our Sensory Feeding group is led by our Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) certified speech-language pathologist who integrates sensory, oral-motor, and a social modeling approach to improve a child's feeding skills.  This may help increase the amount of tastes and textures a child eats, improve mealtime behaviors, and provide strategies to introduce new foods in a fun and safe way.

Bike Camp

For many children, learning how to ride a bike is a significant achievement. It not only gives them a fun new mode of transportation but also helps them stay active and healthy.  


Each 4-day session of this program involves our pediatric professionals guiding participants through activities that address certain skills and topics, such as balance and coordination, starting, stopping, and obstacle navigation, among others. Each Friday after the session is reserved as a make-up date should the weather force cancellation.
